Week 3-- The Amount Of Juiceboxes I've Consumed Is Probably Unhealthy


Happy Saturday! Which is just like every other day of the week for most of you in quarantine, but hey! You survived another week!
And so did I! Lots and lots of spanish practice, which includes lots and lots of mistakes!! My biggest problem with learning spanish is my own impatience... I just want to learn everything all at once which, in case you didn't know, is not how a language is learned. Regardless, I believe I'm making progress. Baby steps, ya know?

Funny story time: It was yesterday, at about 1:00 PDT. I was sitting in class (which means I was sitting at my desk, on a zoom call with my district), munching on some mini M&Ms, which I got for Easter. Now, I don't know if any of you have this problem, but if I have a bowl of anything while sitting and doing something else, I will eat all of said bowl in one sitting. 
But I really love mini M&Ms, so I wanted them to last. So I thought, if I just eat them one by one, they'll last longer, right? Right. So I'm paying attention to class, we're about to do an activity, and I reach for an M&M... and knock the whole bowl over. The clatter of M&M's exploding everywhere caught me completely off guard. I desperately try to save the rest, but the damage has been done. Those delicious, tiny, colorful chocolate candies have been scattered like present-day Israel. They were all over my desk, my lap, the floor. I'm sorry Hermana Crane if it seemed like I wasn't paying attention for a few minutes in class yesterday, it was just my M&M crisis.

Kinda sad how those are the only kinds of funny stories you'll get while I'm in the MTC. But on the brighter side, you wouldn't be getting these kinds of stories if I was in the real MTC. Count your blessings, my friends.

I don't know about the rest of you but this week absolutely FLEW by. I feel like just yesterday was sunday. but TOMORROW is sunday??? Where has the time gone?  So from what I can remember, this week was good. I really don't remember much of what happened. I'm learning spanish, learning how to teach in spanish, and more spanish... it's really quite fun. ¡puedo decir muchas cosas en español ahora! My district is really the greatest, my teachers are fantastic and I absolutely love being in the MTC even if it's at home.  Here's and english/spanish pun for you (courtesy of Elder Roundy) There's a magician about to perform his final act. Thoughts on bees...

This week was crazy long. but today I just want to tell you about some bees I don't like bees. They are loud and they sting and we eat their vomit.... Nasty. They are just not my favorite bug at all.  Someone in our ward is a beekeeper. He was showing all the 8-11 year old girls how the honey was made, and we were invited (because inwardly, we are 8 years old). He showed us the bee boxes, and explained how they worked. A couple things I learned: All the bees you see are female. The male bees rarely leave the hive Male bees don't have stingers. They have about a 5 mile radius Every batch of honey tastes a little different, depending on the flowers they visited And many other random facts. And you know what? The more I learned about those bees, the less I hated them. At the end, a bee just about flew into my face, but I hardly flinched.
