Spiritual Weekend

I probably had the most spiritually enlightening week I've ever had in my life besides the time I went to EFY, but even that kinda pales in comparison.

On Thursday we hopped onto a bus and drove 8 hours to Denver. Stayed with missionaries there and had a devotional with the mission Friday night. Seeing around 200 missionaries together in the same room was pretty incredible. Singing with them was even more so.

Saturday we had a devotional with Elder Holland, elder Nielsen, sister Craven and Bishop Budge. I don't think I can properly put into words how amazing it was. Life-changing, is probably how I would describe it.

Elder Nielsen told us that President Ballard had recommended that elder Holland not come to Denver because of his health. And he replied with "no, we're going." it was his first trip since before covid and he had a LOT to say.

Here's some highlights:
-"serving a mission is the most important thing you will ever do. The most important thing in the universe is the salvation of the human soul"
-"be what you ought to be for the rest od your life"
-"obedience is the first law of EVERYTHING"
-*slams fist onto the pulpit* GO ASTONISH SOMEBODY!
-"for 18-24 months, you are apostolic. In that sense, you and I are exactly alike. We get up every morning and figure out how to save the human family."
-"I haven't given my life to a fairy tale. This is the truth. There is no IF about it."

Obviously there was a whole lot more than that, and it was honestly something I will NEVER forget. It was powerful, it was what I needed, and I fully intend to serve with my entire heart until the day I step off that plane. Elder Holland would be majorly disappointed if I didn't, after that talk he gave. Which, BTW, he didn't have a single sheet of notes for. No tablet, nothing. He just followed the spirit for about an hour. If THAT doesn't testify of the divinity of this work, I don't know what does.

Love you all! Look for miracles, and remember to say your prayers
